Re: Extending the Warranty Should I do it
Unless your unlucky and have had many problems then the extra warranty is not worth it. Having only a front set of rotors and pads changed within 40k under warranty, and the drive belt tensionor fail outside this period i'm still well in front from what the warranty outlay would have been.
Adding to this is the fact that many issues have strict criteria which may need to be met in order for a claim to be successful.

Re: Extending the Warranty Should I do it
Hi Terry,
Just make sure what the dealer is offering you is actually the Nissan Australia warranty and not the dealer extended warranty which worth nothing and will lock you in to servicing the car with them.
I haven't taken-up the Nissan Australia extended warranty for the xtrail because I bought mine from new and know exactly what's in it and how it is being serviced, but I bought the Nissan warranty when I purchased the Nissan Tiida 2nd hand and I reckon it was worth it....not that I had used it cause the Tiida was written off shortly after LOL But at least I got a refund from Nissan for the un-used portion of this warranty and could have also transferred it to another new Nissan car.

Re: Extending the Warranty Should I do it
Just a bit confused as to how long the original Nissan 3 year warranty runs for, had our X-Trail serviced today at the dealer we bought it from, have only used them so far. Paperwork shows the vehicle as an 08 Nissan X-Trail, produced 01/04/08, delivered 20/11/08, warranty expires 29/06/11. We purchased the vehicle new, picked up with less than 5klm on the clock, not a demo model. The warranty expiration date does not line up with any of the dates.

Re:
Barney,
It's 3 years from the date of purchase, so get them to change it to expire on 20/11/11. The same thing happened to me as well and I insisted they get it fixed. It's a long process as Nissan Australia would have to fix their database, but keep at it and they will do it. Request it done through the dealer you purchased it from.
