T31 Standard Stereo
Hi All,
Im looking at replacing the standard stereo with a GPS/TV/DVD/Bluetooth unit and of course IPOD connector.
I finally got 10min to pull the fascia out of the centre dash to have a look at the stereo and see what wires were/werent there and to see how much room I had to play with.
When I pulled out the stereo I noticed that there were two harnesses going into the stereo, one on the left & one on the right, although the one in the centre was not connected. Does anyone have any idea on what the centre plug is/could be used for?
Also, I noticed that there was no antenna going into the unit. Im used to seeing a coax cable for the antenna, have they changed from coax to something else?

The 2 wires are your power and coax, its a special adaptor Nissan use, kind of like a digital feed. You can also buy an adaptor from them to convert to a normal stero system.
The centre empty plug has somethingto do with bluetooth connectivity and cd stacker/ GPS system used in Europe.
I managed to get an ipod working through an input on the standard radio but I still get the radio bleeding through the ipod music.
Once I sort it out it will mean pluging your ipod into an input somewhere on the dash.

Does anyone have a wiring a diagram of the harness going into the T31 OEM stereo?
Also does any aftermarket stereo with steering wheel controls compatable with the T31 steering wheel?

You will most definetly loose your steering controls. Then you can sell them to me.

The only one I know of is the VMS GPS unit but as far as I know they havn't fitted one in a T31 yet.
