Engine Vibration

Hi,
I've had my exy for 12 mths and have been feeling for the past few months that the engine isn't as smooth as it used to be. When it's parked I can rev it up and at about 2500 revs I can feel a vibration through my left foot which is on the brake pedal. The engine also sounds somewhat resonant which appears to be transmitting the vibration through the firewall and anything connected to it. When driving it's not quite as bad but I'm sure it's not like it used to be when new. Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

posticon Re: Engine Vibration

I have had a similar thing happen to my t31,but only after fitting a steel bash plate. After it was fitted i noticed more vibration and a louder engine noise due to the echo effect of the engine bay now being fully enclosed.Check what type of bash plate you have.A dealer told me that with the plastic standard type if a stud falls off the plastic plate can cause resonance and vibration through the floor pan.My plate is a tjm which conveantly has cut outs to change oil filter and do maintenance without having to remove the plate.I like the sound i have, sounds moree gruntier than before.-----------------Mike t31 Electric Blue TI

Re: Engine Vibration

Mike, are you sure your TJM plate isn't rubbing on the transmission mount.
Mine also too made the gruntier sound as you described only to find it was just rubbing.
Check out the last few pages of 'my ride' (click link below) and see what I did to fix it.
