Re: Leaking Rear Shocks
They can be funny buggers Nissan. By law they don't have to cover your shocks because you have the taller coils, and taller coils mean more work for the shocky.
If you had the same aftermarket sized coils as the standard ones, then the shocks' travel would be the same as standard length, then Nissan have no argument.

Re: Leaking Rear Shocks
sounds bad, but even if you know you cant win, make them prove that your springs degraded the shocks (i highly doubt they would be able to - like Rich said), at least you should cause them some inconvenience on behalf of the dozens of unhappy customers on the Australian X-Trail Forum, myself included.
do Nissan employees have a contract to sign so that every customer must leave the dealership unhappy? to date i still have never had a pleasant trip to a Nissan dealership...

Re: Leaking Rear Shocks
For those unhappy XTrailers who have been unfairly treated by Nissan or their Nissan Dealers. Phone 1800035053. Nissan Customer Relations Dept. State your case to a Manager.
Get them to admit or blame the springs in writing and then approach the springs manufacturer and tell them that their product just voided your warranty. Let them head-but each other!

Re: Leaking Rear Shocks
If that is the case Rich, it's a risk the owner decides to take and Nissan will have every right to refuse warranty.
