X-Trail T30 Auto problems

Hi all
I have recently purchased an auto 2006 Xtrail which I have been fairly happy with...but.

I have noticed recently particularly after the car has warmed up that the gear changes between 1st and 2nd can be very rough..

Example:
It changes smoothly during normal acceleration say from a standstill, but is very rough if you slow right down at an intersection and it drops down to 1st (which is smooth) you than accelerate a bit and ease off it will slam into second. It almost feels like it gets a bit stuck in first and when it finally changes is very clunky.

The car only has 90k on the clock and this is very worrying as I can't afford any major repairs.

I mentioned this to the dealer when it had its 90k service, they inspected it and said it looked fine and they couldn't replicate the problem, which is fair enough because it can be very intermittent.
Does anyone have any suggestions, I know if I take it to the local auto trans centre they will just flush it and send me on my way with no doubt the same problem.

Here is an extract from the service manual regarding sharp shocks when changing from 1 -> 2

Just an update on this problem.

I have since had it back to the dealer twice to look at this problem as its getting worse. They seem to do sweet fa and are basically ignoring the problem, they changed the tranny fluid which didn't do a thing.
Not really sure where to go from here. Really regretting buying this car. May just have to trade it in and lose about 6grandemoticon

Do auto's have synchros like manual transmissions? Perhaps they're buggered?

Is there another dealer you can take it to ?
How much of the tests I posted from the service manual did they do ?
If the Xtrail is out of warranty then you might be able to take it to an auto transmission place.
If the warranty is almost up, then that might be why they are taking their time emoticon but just remind them that a fault reported in-warranty which is not fixed is still covered under warranty after the warranty period finishes emoticon

Re: X-Trail T30 Auto problems

could it be user error? when i first got mine brand new i would accelerate and back off at the exact same time the box tried to change up gears (slowish speed in carpark) and there would be a huge bang/clunk. it happened about 3-4 times before i realised it was my poor timing and me using the gas pedal as an on/off switch. has never done it again.
