The interior light circuit, they fade after you open your Exy. All you have to do is splice into that. I would not advise doing that. This circuit for the doors is controlled by the Time Control Unit which controls many other items in the Xtrail interior. It will be electronically controlled to dim the interior lights from the door switch input and will have a maximum loading which if exceded could not just blow the fuse but open circuit the controlling transistor and not work, needing an expensive replacement. Replacing the interior lights with LED's is OK but adding extra load ontothis circuit is asking for trouble. The other point to note is the operation of the circuit for the interior lights. Sure the lights come on when the door is unlocked, but they will not come on when the door is locked, so it does not completely do what Budgie8 wants.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Thu, 29 Jan 2009 12:43:20 +0000 Re: LED Accessory Lightshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2023102,from=rss#post2023102https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2023102,from=rss#post2023102The circuit is already there. You would need two circuits, one for the LED's and one for the Neon as they both are powered by different voltages. Don't know where you would source these or find a circuit to build yourself. Secondly, I think it would be easiest to splice into the wires which actuate the lock and unlock of the driver's door and use these as signals for the two electronic control circuits for the LED's and Neon.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Wed, 28 Jan 2009 21:08:51 +0000 LED Accessory Lightshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2023078,from=rss#post2023078https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2023078,from=rss#post2023078Im looking to put some wiper led lights on the Exy as well as a neon light just behind the grill. I want them to come on when I unlock and lock the Exy then fade after a couple of seconds. I have seen this done on another car but with blue led lights in the front headlight component that is not used for normal lights. It looks good when the car is unlocked and locked and fades out similar to the interior light. Does anyone have any ideas for wiring to make this work, or is a job for the auto electrician Regards Shanenondisclosed_email@example.com (Budgie8)Wed, 28 Jan 2009 20:44:55 +0000
