Re: ATTENTION ALL WA MEMBERS! Sorry guys to spoil the spirits at last moment but I wouldn't be able to make it tomorrow. You must have noticed in other post that I've traded my x-Trail in yesterday.
I might see you guys may be sometime later but with different car.

Re: ATTENTION ALL WA MEMBERS! Hi Guys, unfortunately I did not notice this thread until after the weekend. Any reports on how it went ?
I will keep an eye out for future WA trips as the peanuts I have been 4wding with lately all seem obsessed with wrecking there patrols and hiluxes and expect me to go where they go.
I have survived some hard wedge trips and the powerlines with them, but I'm not doing the exy any favours
Wouldnt mind doing the wedge trip by the tracks, I've only done it along the beach from Lancelin occasionally in the water at high tide and getting stuck.

Re: ATTENTION ALL WA MEMBERS! Hey guys,
Just wondering what the inland track to wedge is like ?? Are there any sand sections which are soft and boggy or is it mostly hard sand tracks? Did you need to drop tire pressures and how low did you drop them to? Would you advise not to attempt this without other vehicles incase of bogging ??
Unfortunately the 2 occasions i planned to head up there the navy range was closed
I've got the "4WD days out of Perth" book which gives pretty good instructions right through to Cervantes but would just like some recent info about the track
Re: ATTENTION ALL WA MEMBERS! It's a awesome track going there, but we took the long long way around going through a lot of nice and interesting tracks. 1 little 2 metre uphill dune needed to be climed to continue the track we took, that was a little soft but everyone got up first go. Doing the tracks I was running on 18PSI due to the amount of rocks and bumps
You can do the track the other way as well which is following the basic track in but taking the an exit on the left to the head to the beach (around 7km from Lancelin). This beach sand is hard is a lot of places but can get quite soft, but not soft enough to bog.
I'll try and get you the map of google maps which our gps software plotted the course onto

Re: ATTENTION ALL WA MEMBERS! if anyone is heading that way and wants to know if navy range is closed send me a PM and ill let you know (inside info)
on tyre pressure i wouldnt go too much below 20 as there are a fair amount of rocks, etc and this pressure is fine for the sandy bits of the inland tracks i have come across
