Cargo Blind Prices

Hi all,

I've just beed down to our local Nissan dealer inquiring about a price for a cargo blind for our '04 Exy, and the price they quoted was $367.

I'm just wondering what the general consensus is on this price, because it seems a bit steep to me.

Please let me know what you think, and thanks for taking the time to look at this,

Brett

Re: Cargo Blind Prices

I agree it is a bit steep for the materials used etc perhaps you might be able to snag one on ebay or at the wreckers?

I was advised that a left hand side drawer for the T31 is roughly $360 too........*cough* ripoff! emoticon

Re: Cargo Blind Prices

Brett,

That's about right, you can get it a bit cheaper (around $320.00) from some dealers, but I reckon you should keep an eye on eBay as they get listed there quite often and you can score one for around $150.00

Keep an eye on the forum 4 sale section too, as there have been a few sold there over the years...

I can't find any old posts there with cargo blinds as they get deleted after the item's sold.

I sold mine there only a few months ago as I was longer am able to use it anymore with having to put the pram in and out of the boot all the time - so there's a good chance someone else might be in the same boat and you could come across one soon.

Re: Cargo Blind Prices

Thanks for the replies guys, greatly appreciated.

I've been an eBay addict over the last couple of weeks looking for one!

I'm now regretting not getting the cargo blind when I purchased the car so that the price would have been included in the finance.

It's just a shame as there is a lot of more enjoyable things I would rather buy for the Exy with that much cash emoticon

Re: Cargo Blind Prices

I had sold mine on ebay for about $150 when i sold my T30. Pretty rare they get listed, and when they do they get a few bids.
I was a bit disappointed that nothing from my T30 fit the T31, but i guess its Nissans way of keeping everything new.... or something... emoticon

Re: Cargo Blind Prices

Hi Brett,
They are a bit steep, especially when you mount the spare in the rear to accommodate gas. I have had one in the garage since fitting gas some 12 months ago. Send me a PM if interested.
Cheers

Re: Cargo Blind Prices

After reading the posts about Cargo Blinds I have decided to make my own solid but removable "sort of" back parcel shelf....... I carry my music gear in my exy and for would be thieves that would be like a magnet, I'm at the planning stage (in my head) at the moment..... I intend using a piece of 3mm MDF cut to the contours of the rear compartment, strengthened by some aluminium angle around the outside and one piece of aluminium channel across the widest part.... then covering the whole thing with carpet that will match the car upholstery.... When I do get to starting the job I'll take photos of each stage and make them available to anybody who might be interested.... Al emoticon

Re: Cargo Blind Prices

I did the same thing (3mm MDF panel) in my Pulsar to hide the sub box. I haven't done it in the X-Trail, but it would be alot harder as you don't have the speakers on the sides of the boot area with a lip to make a simple copy of the original parcel shelf (as the X-Trail doesn't come with speakers in the boot nor a solid parcel shelf).

Are you going to put a hinge in the middle to be able to fold it back on itself? You could use a "piano" hinge instead of multiple normal hinges.

Good luck with it.
