Re: Oversized Tires on T30? Is it possible, anyone done it?
OK, so with Taylor stating here that 15-50mm increase in tyre size is OK with recalibration of the speedo for the T30 (plated "MC"), does anyone know how much this recalibration would cost and where it would be done ?

Kev,
Around $900.00 and there is a company at Carringbah that specializes in this and they will need the car over-night.

Surely it can be done cheaper than that.
I've had a speedo calibrated for around the $100 mark a few years ago.
Some auto transmission and diff specialist can also calibrate speedos.
I would definately let my fingers do the walking if this was me.

In that case all they have to do is change the servo or sun gear in the back of the speedo then and replace it with one of a different value.

Re: Oversized Tires on T30? Is it possible, anyone done it?
I have BFG 225/70/16's on mine. These are 4-5% larger.
I have tested on a highway and compared with GPS and it appears that the trip meter and odometer is also 4-5% less. This means my calculated fuel/100km is better than calculated since i have actualy travelled more km's than what the trip meter says.
This is also better for depreciation value as after 100,000km the odometer will be around 4-5000km less than actually traveled.
Has anyone tested this out aswell to prove this is correct?
A more accurate test is on a highway with few bends. The GPS will give a more accurate trip-meter reading.
