Sunglasses holders

Does anyone know if the Sunglasses holder in the T31 Ti (the one near the rear vision mirror) is a separate compartment, or is it part of the light assembly? Also, does it store one pair of sunnies, or two?

I'm interested in putting one in my ST-L, both for convenience and to maybe keep my expensive sunglasses a bit more out of the way of thieves (I know they may still check, but less likely than the cargo area on the dash I think). It looks like it would be a simple matter of cutting the existing hole in the roof liner bigger, and then slipping the bigger unit in place.

I imagine the part can be ordered from Nissan, but I guess it would be a bit expensive if it's part of the light assembly. Buying one from a wrecker would be an alternative I guess, once there's a few more wrecked T31s out there...

G'day Daniel

The holder only really holds one pair of sunnies (two, if they are small & narrow and you don't mind them being scratched) and the unit is not part of the light assembly.

Good luck with finding one

Excellent...Jalal, do you happen to know the part number for this?

One pair stolen is better than two...plus it would be more convenient!

No idea Daniel. Try calling a dealer and ask about the part number.

Re: Sunglasses holders

Part number is NI-26430-JG00C and the part is called A.SPOT LAMP for the non-sunroof model retail price $29.80 the existing lights fits in it. What is curious is that this is a part for a TI/TL and to the best of my knowledge they all came with sunroofs so why is Nissan stocking a part for a non-sunroof TI/TL probably explains why they are so cheap.

Re: Sunglasses holders

OK had a good look at the job last night, I took the light holder out, it fits straight into the Sunglasses holder no problems. However there are issues I need to look at there is a small electronic unit that clips into the existing light holder holder (no I'm not stuttering) that has no place in the new fitting. The support bracket that attached to the roof brace is also different I will be having a look at the diagram down at Nissan shortly to see how much the new bracket will be as well as where the electronic unit is placed. I am not sure what it is but it looks like a sensor of some kind or even a microphone.

Re:

If your Series 4 exy is a Ti or a TL it would have the auto-wipers and auto headlights feature. That's the windscreen sensor for them both, so be careful with it as it can't be replaced and only comes complete as part of the windscreen.
