Sorry Bec, I don't know any repairers but you can surely pick-up a 2nd hand engine for much cheaper than that.

Hi Bec,
Ask the mechanic what the breakdown is of his price for parts and labour.
You can get a complete QR25DE recondition kit from the US for just over $700 on ebay which includes all the pistons, rings, bearings, waterpump, etc. Only thing extra would be honing the cylinders, checking head for warping and labour to strip-down and rebuild.
You might be able to save quite a bit if he is quoting genuine parts costs from Nissan.
