Oil and Dual Fuel - Petrol/LPG

Hi Folks,
Interested in any comments on suitable engine oil for dual fuel - LPG/Petrol. I have been running Mobil 1 for a couple of months, which I believe is suitable for LPG and hot engines.
Cheers/John

I have used Mobil1 in all my cars since it was first available in Australia and I swear by the stuff - it is good enough to drink emoticon

Re: Oil and Dual Fuel - Petrol/LPG

Hi Glenn,
Thanks for the heads up. My question arose as I remember reading somewhere that the Mobil 1 was too thick/heavy for the exy engine. I think I read that the Castrol Edge 5W/30W was nearer the X'trail specifications. Having LPG with it's hotter running also had me questioning what is the most suitable synthetic oil.
As for drinking it, I like the thick drink (Stout) so maybe will try the oil out after a 10,000K change; Not quite the same colour though !!!!
Cheers/John

Jalal
I only condone the responsible consumption of the amber fluid, just an occasional top up emoticon

John
As you probably know Mobil 1 comes in different grades. There are 5w-30, 0w-40 and 5w-50 and all of these are listed as suitable for the X Trail on the Mobil website.
IMHO it doesn't matter which grade you use, they are all excellent oils. I still haven't bitten the bullet and got my T31 yet but if I go for the petrol engine it is my intention to use 5w-50 as I have had great success over the years with this grade. I currently use this oil in my Mazda3 in conditions varying from -5 deg to 40 deg during the year.
If you ask 50 different people you will probably get 50 different ideas on what you "should" and "shouldn't" use, my only suggestion is to use what you feel comfortable with, that's what I do.
Glenn.

Thanks Glenn,
I'll stick with the Mobil 1 - 5W-50W, as I am pretty comfortable with it.
