T30 Series 2 Dash board Cluster HI All
I was wondering if any one has any instructions on how to get the dash cluster out of my series 2 T30 X Trail?
I have searched for it in the forum but I cant find any info in the how to link?
Im sure there is instructions there some where as there are alot of posts on how to change the dash lamp and modify led colours with photos of the dash already out (maybe not searching with the right words)
Ive got this annoying rattle coming from the dash some where I have had the nissan service ppl look at it several times and they keep saying the rattle is not there?
So I want to look for it myself, but i dont want to risk breaking any thing,
I know the rattle is there! it sounds like a wiring harness tapping on some thing hollow and plastic, it only seems to do it when its cold then after the interior warms up it then just intermittently come and go grrr (driving me nuts) lol

Re: T30 Series 2 Dash board Cluster Ray,
The Series II cluster lid (the black plastic one) is even easier to remove than Series I.
All you need to do is pull it hard towards you when you sitting in the car and it will come off. There are no screws holding it place. Once that is done, there are 4 screws holding the dials in place which you will need to remove to see the wiring harnesses.
Re: T30 Series 2 Dash board Cluster Hey Guys
Will give it a go in the morning
I was pushing the plastic cover straight up toward the windscreen instead of out as you guys have suggested, I was getting a gap of about 5mm but it didnt feel like it was going to go any further without breaking some thing
Will let you know how I went
many thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: T30 Series 2 Dash board Cluster Hey
well kind of,
there is a cable harness which comes directly out of the dashboard cluster, Nissan had insulated before with some foam tape but it was still rattling against the cluster housing so I bent it out of the way and placed some more foam tape. Thats got rid of the little rattle.
There is still a larger rattle coming from the middle windscreen area, but I cant get to that?
It seems to be where the air conditioning duct meets the windscreen. That looks harder to get to so I have left it at that so far.
Im going to have anther go at it tomorrow
See if i can get some thing to slip nicely between the duct and the plastic vent to keep some pressure on it to prevent the rattle
