Re: T31 Diesel Fuel Consumption

We purchased our first X-trail in 2009 TL DCI manual to downsize from Falcon wagons and tow our Adria Altea 432PX caravan. 915Kgs base weight, inc shower toilet etc.

We now have 130,000Ks on the clock.

Last year trip Melb to Cooktown 3 months, covered 10,700 Ks Van covered about 7,500 Average fuel consumption 10.4 L/100

Looking forward to a Diesel Automatic with 2,000 Kgs rated towing capacity, so Wifie can handle

Cheers All

Just started recording fuel economy using Dinkum Logbook after all the major heavy upgrades were done. Easier to keep it on the phone. Considering all the extra weight (easily over 100kg worth) on Bossy, the best fuel economy with the help of tail winds between Kelmscott and Kalgoorlie is [sign in to see URL] and with headwinds it's up to [sign in to see URL]. Town driving is the worse because of all the start-stops. Only have one reading so far but it's not accurate. Best suburb/highway driving is [sign in to see URL]; worse is [sign in to see URL].

67,000 km on the clock and getting a regular [sign in to see URL] per 100km on a trip (@110km/h according to the GPS) using cruise control with the air con running. Primarily using Caltex VORTEX Diesel since new or occasionally BP ULTIMATE Diesel. Considering it also has a TUFF bulbar fitted, I'm extremely happy with the economy. FYI - Fuel economy at GPS measured speed of 115 km/h in 6th gear, is better than at 100km/h in 6th!

Re: T31 Diesel Fuel Consumption

Just ticked over 185000kms and recently returned the best fuel consumption figures I've ever had - 7l/100km. As usual trip computer showed less than that at 6.7. What was interesting though is that on this tank I initially saw the lowest figures on the trip computer I have ever seen [sign in to see URL]!

I filled up at Mt Victoria and drove 'downhill' to Penrith at normal speeds, but have recently started driving in 5th when below 90kmh. When I got to Penrith the trip computer was registering 3.8! By the time I headed back up the mountains & got to Bathurst it had risen to 5.8. A few short trips around town and a run to Cowra & back saw the final figure come out at 7.

Not sure whether the change in driving technique or the fact that engine has finally loosened up may have contributed. Next time I'll just kept travelling down hill & I should be able to get about 2000ks out of a tank. hahaha

Re: T31 Diesel Fuel Consumption

Sorry for old thread bump guys but google world hasnt been too enlightening, had our 2011 T31 diesel for abit over a year now and consumption off the trip meter when we got it was about [sign in to see URL], had to put a new battery in it which reset everything and it then never came back below about [sign in to see URL] and since then its slowly worked its way up to [sign in to see URL] which seems pretty high. It is pretty much just a shopping trolley but does get into 100kph zones every week and ive never seen the dpf light come up on the dash or had it do a self clean. Anyone got any ideas??
