T31 and wheel bearings
Hiall. I've noted a lot of discussion on the older X-Trails and their wheel bearings.
We'll likely be putting our order in this week for a manual Ti, which will see a bit of sand work, in addition to being my work chariot (to the tune of 35K-40K km per year for the next four years), and I'm wondering what I'm likely to be in for.
How are the new-series X-Trails shaping up as far as the durability of the running gear?

Re: T31 and wheel bearings
Hi Scott,
It's a bit too early to tell in regards to durability of the T31, but one would hope that Nissan took note of the problems we had with the previous models (the T30) and had them corrected. Europe had the T31 made available to them before us and so far, there has been no major issues reported.
As for wheel bearings, I'd be changing them at 100K as recommended for the T30 model, regardless of what Nissan claims.

Re: T31 and wheel bearings
Yeah, when I reflect on it, during the 90's, I drove a number of FWD hatch thingies, and generally did wheel bearings not long after 100K km anyway... I've been a bit spoilt of late, wunning around in the Big Locals, and not having much in the way of driveline maintenance to worry about...
