Fridge Rear Seat Mount

I have just completed a mod that I thought I might share.

I removed the driver's side small rear seat (top and bottom) and replaced it with a tray that I mounted my Waeco fridge on. It bolts to the rear seat back mounts and a plate is locked in at the front by the seat bottom locking pin.

I mounted an Engel slidelock on the tray and slide the fridge in.

Then made a blind to fill in the opening in the cargo barrier that is left when the seat rear is removed to stop people looking under the cargo blind.

Very happy how it turned out. I can take photos if anyone is interested.

How reversible is the mod ?

I'm wondering if it is something which could be done for a holiday trip and then have the seat put back for normal town running.

It is all reversible. I just unbolt the fridge tray and bolt the seat back in.

Nothing in the car is changed just the seat back is unbolted. The seat bottom is uncliped.

I would be very interested to see your mods emoticon as I would like to do same. Did you follow a set procedure or did you just make it up as you went along? And where have you run the power lead (in the T31, the power jack is located LHS near tailgate)?

Re: Fridge Rear Seat Mount

I just completed the two week trip.

The fridge mount passed the test of the Oonadatta Track, plus very off road trip into Peake Telegraph Stations.

Highly recommend the mount as it was a great asset on the trip.

Great pics, F. Thanks for sharing.
Have a few more smaller trips to complete before we head out into the beyond, but have bookmarked your pics for future planning.
