Re: The Platinum Projectile
haha yeh thanks i did tidy up the engine bay alittle.
i love my headunit too bits, good looks, good sound and i like the user interface also very easy to use with an ipod, doesnt play CD's though, only digital media (ipod, USB w/ MP3s etc). the system cranked before with front alpine splits and alpine HU with factory rears (soon to be changed) but then i added the sub and it tops it off nicely. you can buy bits and pieces to suit like bluetooth, cd stackers and their 'imprint' module ($$$) which automatically tunes itself for best sound in that shape of car and with the speakers available.
i got my speakers from JB- hifi (got my sub and amp and wiring kit from them too, soooo cheap they like 50% off it all cos i bought it as a job lot) and if you say you saw them at another place for X amount cheaper they usually drop the price big time. got the HU from audiotech in tuggeranong because they are a alpine dealer and no one had any iDA-X100 in canberra (only x001,x200,x300) and because i installed it myself they gave it too me heaps cheaper (about 520?) than they sell them from now retail (seen them 599 redued from 649).

Re: The Platinum Projectile
also i guess the old "how much cheaper for cash" line doesnt hurt either, some places might jump at it. might help to price match to because alot of the time most places try beat it by 10%

Re: The Platinum Projectile
Today i fitted some speakers i picked up the other day for 60% off from JB. They are Alpine type S 4" 2way speakers.
With alittle bit of stuffing around i fitted them in the dash, where the T30 Ti's had factory fitted tweeters. i did have to modify brackets and demister piping but it sounds awesome!!!
When i upgraded to splits in the front doors the sound quality improved heaps but i lost some MID's which i have now got back with the 4" speakers. hopefully have some pics up soon!

Re: The Platinum Projectile
Thats great, well its easy to fix the mids, buy new door speakers.
Then the low end will be suffering and by the time you know it, theres a whole new audio system in there, he he.
Can't wait to see the pics.
