Re: Crank Pulleys

I forgot to take a pic soz emoticon
But i bought it off ebay OBX power crank pulley quite cheap.
It was a perfect fit, no shakes, no vibrations emoticon
I bought the same size pulley but only wayyyyyyy lighter lol.
I dont want to change the size of the pulley cos I just installed a full audio system and didnt wanna change the volt output, etc.

highly recomended emoticon

Hi Hendra

I also installed OBX Crank Pulley as you did. So far so good...

Actually I'm afraid of the pulley is not balanced well. What do you think? emoticon

Re: Crank Pulleys

It should be balanced, as promised by OBX...apparently LOL.

So far my crank pulley is holding up well and I've been driving it like I stole it and no kaboom or anything yet. so yea =)

Re: Tightening Crankshaft Pulley

I read T30 Service Manual (Engine Mechanical Section page 57), it's said:

Tighten crankshaft pulley bolt with the following procedure.
a. Apply new engine oil to thread and seat surfaces of crankshaft pulley bolt.
b. Tighten crankshaft pulley bolt: 42.1 N·m (4.3 kg-m, 31 ft-lb)
c. Put a paint mark on crankshaft pulley, mating with any one of six
easy to recognize angle marks on bolt flange.
d. Turn another 60 degrees clockwise (angle tightening).
Check the tightening angle with movement of one angle mark

Why do I need to do step c & d, instead of doing step b with more torque?
Anybody can explain technical reason behind this?
