Ireland & Canada Bound

Only 5 more sleeps & we are off on our triennial expedition to Ireland for a tour & an Odea Clan gathering. After that, we will be off to Canada for a couple of weeks. Visiting Toronto first & then across to Vancouver & some of the Rockies. Wish I could take the X-trail!!

Where are you going in Ireland Dave?

I am heading there to visit my folks for a week or so in October. Apparently the weather is nice there at the moment and you should be fine in July.

Re: Ireland & Canada Bound

We fly in to Dublin & go by train over to Limerick, where we start a 2 week circumnavigation tour of Ireland.
After the tour we have the clan gathering in Ennis for 3 days before we go back to Dublin & fly out to Canada.
We have been attending these gatherings every 3 years since 1996, so it is like going home.
The weather is usually very nice. One year the bitumen road was melting when they had a heatwave and it reached a sweltering 28 degrees. They were spreading road gravel on the surface to try & keep it together. It sounded like you were driving down a muddy track.
As for Canada I don't know if there are any members in Ontario or BC, the only one I know of is in Newfoundland I think.
I really need a holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bitumen melting at 28 degrees???? emoticon They must have used the shonky stuff to make their roads, as I worked in a country overseas where it reached 40 degrees and that is when bitumen started to really melt and get stuck to tyres LOL emoticon
