Re: T31 Cruise control issues

Hi, I have done 13,000 kms in my 2009 TI and am experiencing the same problems, I asked the dealer to check it at the 10k service & they told me there were no alerts/defects from nissan but would contact them to explain the problem. Has anyone had any success through nissan dealers or a DIY fix?

Terry

Re: T31 Cruise control issues

I took mine for 10K service today and told the service desk about my CC issue only to be informed that dropping 8k to 10k speed is normal emoticon I complained too that I have to press hold the up button to increase speed and got same reply - that's normal emoticon But I insist for them to check it coz I'm not happy with CC. If if they failed I will ask them to let me drive another X-Trail since most of their employees drives exy's( I know coz of the reg plate emoticon )

Will keep you posted emoticon

Re: T31 Cruise control issues

Not had that issue in my XTrail, but it is the diesel? Not heard about it from sister with a Petrol XTrail either, sounds like a hit & miss problem.

Your other option would be to front up to the sales department to test drive a new XTrail...... then if it doesn't do it, go to service and drag them out to demonstrate.

Jo
It should be on in an instant.
You should have taken the dealer for a drive to test it out before you left.

I know I should've but the guy behind the counter looked like he was somewhere else and in a hurry. The thing that I've noticed yesterday on the way home was the CCVT was working as it should, like shifting down 1 gear going down hill and actually slowing down the car not like before the service, never. So I guess it is a good sign so far. But if the CC still the same then yes, next meet I will drag the service guy if I have too for a test drive emoticon

Anyway, I'll find out today and will report back later emoticon

Re: T31 Cruise control issues

Well I drove to work last night via M7 and the CC worked like the way it should be. It still goes over or under the speed limit but by only 1 to 2 klicks not like before emoticon And on the way home this morning I took the Old Windsor road and used the CC again. The CCVT and CC worked like a dream. The tranny drops one gear going up hill then goes 1 gear up which sometimes over speed but as soon as the CCVT detects down hill you can see/feel it actually slowing down the Exy by dropping one gear again. How cool was that. Can't wait to drive her to Brissy next January emoticon

Sorry guys for blubbering and sounding like a kid. I'm just really happy with Exy now emoticon

Re: T31 Cruise control issues

Well........we took the exy for a trip to Melbourne and after nearly 2000k sadly to say it was the worst trip ever emoticon The CVT and CC were useless and nearly cost us an accident emoticon

The CC was working great for an hr or so then I've noticed it was dropping 5k to 12k before the CVT drops a gear then over shoots 8k to 12k. The only time the CVT/CC will work was on flat road or when I turned off the CC, it was only then it will shift gears up/down. I felt blister was forming on my thumb from Goulbourn all the way to Melbourne and back emoticon

Another thing was my speedometer is out of whack by 7ks. We went past a portable speed checking unit(yellow unit) around Campbelltown when speed is 80kph due to road work. My speed was 80kph but my GPS(Garmin nuvi 1390) was showing 71kh and the portable unit was showing 70kph. When we passed the border, they have this speed check unit in Victoria for both lanes both ways(some ppl might have seen this) My dash was showing 110, Garmin was 103 and speed screen unit was 103 too. This explains why a lot of cars over took us.

Anyway, it looks like I'm taking the car back to Nepean for another service. Does anyone know who is the best person to talk to there???

Re: T31 Cruise control issues

Hi Jo,

I've done exactly the same speed checks at exactly the same spots you mentioned during my Xmas run to Melbourne and back (see THIS post) After the first speed check at Campbelltown, I decided to trust my GPS speed fully and set the cruise control based on it. No one was overtaking me LOL emoticon

Given you are in south west Sydney have you considered Macarthur Nissan as an option, they are a Platinum Dealership and I am very happy with them
