Re: T31 Cruise control issues

Read the manual on the cruise control and now I understand the workings it does seem better, especially the set and decelerate functions. Must say 1km/hr change is a little to little for me though that is 10 clicks from 100 -> 110 in the T30 it was only 5.

You can also hold the button in the up or down position and it rapidly gets to speed without the need for seperate clicks.

True, but I find that if you go for the hold method there is a what seems to be a eternity delay probably only 5 sec in reality, but for me the whole thing of clicking is that you don't need to set the speed again you just click away an know that you are at your new required speed.

Re: T31 Cruise control issues

I found that whilst using the cruise control I have better results if I set the speed whilst on a flat section of road . I also tend to accelerate with the pedal then reset the cruise at the desired speed. I also noticed that whilst going down hill on cruise control the Xy will "run away" a bit to much and increase speed a little to far before regaining control , the other thing on this is that there is a little more engine control ( engine braking i believe ) with the cruise control off whilst going down hill ! ( CVT)

Re: T31 Cruise control issues

I believe I do have issues with my CC. Today was a lot more obvious. I went for a drive on Elizabeth drive from Cowpasture Rd to Luddenham. The road wasn't that hilly at all but I did notice that the speed will drop from a set speed from 8k to 10k going up hill and will go over 8K going down. Also noticed that I have to hold the ACC button for at least 10secs to speed up or to slow down. So on the way back home, I decided not to use the CC coz I didn't want to get book for speeding or driving slow.

I have a Lancer with CC and sad to say but my Exy CC don't even come close emoticon

Jo
You definately have a problem there.
I drive that road a lot and it doesn't drop more than 1km/h when going up hills.
The CC should be instant when you press the button.

Re: T31 Cruise control issues

Thought same thing too. Speed should not increase or drop so much and it shouldn't take 10secs for the CC to engage. But I just have to put up with till the 10K service as I was promised they will do it for free and fix what ever issues I have.

Re: T31 Cruise control issues

The CC on my 6 spd T31 is quite good compared to other cars CC.

I have noticed that it cancels going over a bump like a level crossing.

Once I also had the fault mentioned earlier where the CC lights on the dash kept on flashing and I couldnt set it or turn it off. I had to turn the engine off for the system to fix itself.

Mine hasn't done this yet, can't say that I have gone that fast over a rail crossing with CC on.

As to the flashing light. When this happens you can't engage the CC, but your right by cancelling it when you turn the ignition off and on again.
By memory I think it just happened, no cause for it.

Yeah mine does that, but only at over 100km/h and on a decent size bump or rail crossing.

Usually anything that I should have slowed down for, but couldn't be bothered too.

Otherwise its going pretty good.
