T31 Dash Storage Removal

I am fitting a new stereo unit and was wondering has anyone tried to get the centre storage area out of the middle of the T31 dash. I know it has 5 plastic tangs on the cabin side that seem to move when pressed but the unit still doesn't want to start to release. I don't want to force it so I would appreciate any help.

Hi Chris,

The diagram shows metal and plastic clips holding it in place as well as 2 screws

Re: T31 Dash Storage Removal

Hi thanks for the reply. I downloaded the T31 manual that had the link posted elsewhere and have this picture but a picture doesn't always tell a thousand words. I was hoping someone had actually done it before I started pulling forceably.

Since there are 2 screws there I don't think pulling it forcibly is a good idea. emoticon

Re: T31 Dash Storage Removal

Yea a bad choice of words maybe not foreably although after pulling off the door trims to fit the new speakers and having some of the plastic clips actually stay in the door and snap off the head in the trim then I know that some of these clips can be a pain to remove easily.

Re: T31 Dash Storage Removal

Thanks for the pics Kim but they look like the glovebox from what I can tell. I was actually referring to the centre dash storage. Much appreciated you took the time anyway.
