Re: Watagans Trip April 2008
Paul,
New members are joining-up the forum and some are from Sydney/NSW, don't forget to pop-in and have a look at the intro section of the forum and extend them an invite to this outing. Am sure some of them would be very interested to meet-up for the first time and enjoy a bit of fun.

Re: Watagans Trip April 2008
We hope to confirm by thursday, happy with a quick drop in to the Wollombi Tavern as we need to pick up some more Dr Jurds Jungle Juice but dont forget the days are a bit shorter now so if we want to hit the dirt we dont want to spend too long at the pub. There is also agreat pub at St Albans, but thats another story......

Re: Watagans Trip April 2008
Guys,
I still reckon meet at Ourimbah at 9-9:30am and then head up to Wollombi might be the go. The reason being....it's part 2WD, but part of this route is definately 4WD only (but OK for an Exy). Here's a pic from my last trip. This juicy bit of mud is called Cedar Brush Track. It runs in basically the same direction as the OxExplore route, but on a different (4WD only) track.
The thing I found about the Watagans, some of the 4WD stuff off the Net is VERY 4WD and not good for anything less than a trail bike or mud crawler. On the way to Wollombi there's a track I can show you called Old Mill Track. It'll test out your suspension, but you won't get right through it...it's just too damned hard. In any case, no matter where we go, the forecast is for showers, so there's no risk of the Exy coming home clean!!!!
The total distance to Wollombi on dirt is about 60km and we could be at Wollombi by early arvo. We could then have lunch at the pub, plus the scenery would make a nice backdrop for some pics of the cars. If people feel inclined, there are also a few nice wet creek crossings near the pub as well.
Anyway...I'll go with the concensus....this is just a thought.
