Re: T31 tyre trouble

Yes, my 687s are 0208. A bit of googling and it appears they are sold in NZ still. The blurb says:

The Dueler 687 is designed as a premium highway tyre for recreational vehicles which require maximum ride quality and road holding. A tyre suited to highway terrain, its special tread compound and construction deliver superior dry and wet road performance without sacrificing ride comfort.

Overall Diameter 688 mm
Tread Depth 7.8 mm

Cheers

Re: T31 tyre trouble

My RH/S rear copped a stick through the side wall which couldn't be repaired. I bought a new Bridgestone Dueller 687 from Bob Jane at Hornsby ($259 fitted). Bridgestone at Hornsby could also order them in but had none in the shop which is why I went to Bob Jane. My tyre was only 2000km old when I had to throw it away emoticon

Re:

My 4.5yo t31 has only done 28K and my last service manager told me to replace the front tyres as it has worn from bad wheel alignment. He recommended replacing with the same Bridgestone 687 and would not recommend anything else in this price range. I went to BJ and they also said replace with the 687 even though I suggested HP Sport. They all think 687 is the best HT tyres for T31. @year 2012? I dunno.

Re:

If your happy with the 687's then put another pair on, but there are some really good H/T tyres out there like the Cooper CS4 which will give you far more mileage for a reasonable price.

Have a look at this thread to see what others have used.

Tyres

If you plan on leaving the bitumen at any stage, you will find the standard Dunlop tyre is utter rubbish and VERY expensive to replace.

A much better tyre, giving superior mileage, with enormously better off road abilty is the Bridgestone Dueller 697. I had these put on my TS Manual prior to delivery.

The 697 is cheaper than the standard Dunlop tyre which aquaplanes and handles terribly in the wet on bitumen and makes even basic off bitumen excursions way hardeer than they ought to be.

Ditch the standard Dunlop rubber immediately.
