Re: T31 Spark Plugs (QR25DE Engine)

Yes Tony, compared to the price of the NGK iridiums for the T30, these are pretty expensive for sure. The reason being that it is still a new type of spark plug and being only distributed by Toyota and the other reason is that it lasts longer than the NGK iridium (or so DENSO claims).

Re: T31 Spark Plugs (QR25DE Engine)

Found out just now that the T31 genuine plugs are platinum plugs (Nissan part no. 22401501B) and only need to be changed every100 000kms.

Re:

anyone tried DILKAR6A-11 NGK plug?

i've chopped and changed the plug application on my t30, from LFR5A-11 to AIX-11, to LFR6A etc...

You could order a set of copper plugs from NGK, part no. would be something like DLKAR6A-11...

factory plugs may be platinum but you don't necessarily need to use iridium/platinum, you may notice a slight difference in performance but fresh copper plugs every 20-30k each is better than 80-100k iridiums in my opinion. plus copper plugs would only be $10-$15ea...

I've had/heard of a few bad experiences of precious metal plugs. I work at Repco, I see people coming in all the time with fancy plugs that haven't lasted anywhere near 80k before they missfire. They just aren't worth the $$ you part with for them and they are sensitive to dirty fuel and fouling.

my $0.02...

Re:

Not sure about chopping things to make them fit, but I have used the Iridium NGKs in my T30 for all its life (over 8 years) and would never go back to using anything less. The platinum plugs might be expensive from the dealer, but there are other options around.

Re:

I went and got some new plugs for my seX trial (T31) and they gave me NGK LFR5A-11. From my reading I was given the wrong ones? These for the T30 are they? I dont mind changing my plugs often, in my old buzz box I use to chamge plugs every 20000 (N13 Pulsar with CA18DET with Langley modified awd). Oh and change gear box too, was hard on the gear.

If they are no good for mine I will have four for sale!!!
