Re: Angled intake Spacer

sure - the power band changes in the 3300 rpm band to about 4800 rpms - there is a shift in the torque curve since the runners being extended a little bit result in a better cylinder fill rate - the energy behind the air (velocity coming from the plenum) picks up at this rpm demand level and the longer primary on the plenum helps this -

Re: Angled intake Spacer

wperdigon, Rest assured there was never an issue of anyone copying anyone's designs - heaven forbid - that would be wrong in principle. I was referring to a bespoke solution.

This was simply another one of my left-of-field thoughts, since I sensed some some unrequited enthusiasm from fellow forum members, which I am certain has been put to rest by your presence here now. So no harm done there.

I for one am curious to know the dynoed results if they are available, as I take a personal, (and strictly non-commercial ) interest in intake modifications like velocity stacks, secondary plenums, screened intakes and the ilk.

Re: Angled intake Spacer

If I may suggest something William which will help us with our decisions...

Since we are not sure how the Spec-V QR25DE performs in relation to our Xtrail QR25DE, if you could also dyno the Spec-V as "stock" before the addition of the AIMS then we could compare that dyno with a stock dyno we have of the Xtrail for a better "theoretical evaluation".

Re: Angled intake Spacer

This looks like about a 10% gain in torque with a shift of around 500rpm lower in the rev range.

Should be good for 4wd and towing use emoticon

Re: Angled intake Spacer

Thanks for that William. Looks very encouraging indeed.

Was it a stock SpecV or did it have any other mods?

Not yet Taylor, we're short in numbers to make the group-buy go ahead.
