Re: T31 HeadLights

Hi Jeff,

Haven't have time to install it yet as I have just sort out the wiring. Hopefully it will work out the way I want it. A few waterproof connectors are on the way now.

Converting H4 to bi-xenon is not easy as you need to keep the low beam on when high beam is on.

Just out of the topic, the oem power folding + heated mirrors & oem mirror cover with indicator has arrived a few days ago. Just the matter of finding time to do it.

Re: T31 HeadLights/powered mirrors

Kev

Am keen to find out more about the powered mirror conversion.

1. where did you source the mirrors from and approx cost

2. some pics when you do the conversion for a DIY guide would be very handy.

Thanks

John

Re: T31 HeadLights

John,

First I thought it will be a very simple swap over but I was wrong. AU T31 only has 3 wires per mirror, power folding version have 5 wires and power folding + heated has 7 wires.

I don't think I am going to wire up the heater and just put 2 extra wires for folding function. By the way, you need to buy a new switch with folding button.

There are a lot of companies on the internet that can source it for you. Shipping would be a big killer as they come with big boxes.

Re: T31 HeadLights

Just a quick update that the headlights are on and running.

Got the stamp of approval from Jalal last weekend. emoticon

The OEM bulb is Philips D2S 85122+ 4300K @ 3200 lumen.

This video shows how the projector work.

The metal plate will move down when high beam is on at the same time low beam voltage has to be on as well to light up the bulb.

They look very nice and exactly like the European exy factory fit. Well done Kim, but the price tag nearly made me faint when you told me LOL emoticon

Crossing it off the list now and starting the next task on the list.

Tested the LED driving lights just now and my jaw dropped to the ground. Just need to find a really dark street to test again.

Re: T31 HeadLights

The headlights do produce a very nice broad beam. It would nicer if the beam can project further.

Both headlights are aligned according to service manual so adjusting the beam upwards is not an option. emoticon
