T31 HeadLights

Yet again Australia missed-out on having the HID headlights on the exy and am really not sure why Nissan Australia insists on dropping out important and advanced features like HID lighting, given the fact the nearly all of the modern cars now have HID.

Here are the HID headlights for the T31 that are available in Japan and most of Europe.

Probably a cost cutting exercise Jalal, the Aus gov put so much tax on new cars that all imported brands usually end up either way too expensive or with luxury items dropped off the spec. To have the HID's the exy would also need to have headlight washers fitted to comply with regulations, so they save on the headlight unit costs plus all the pump, pipes, jets and switch that make up the washers.

Damn annoying, HID's are so nice to have.

Has anybody investigated the option of importing spare parts like HID headlights direct from Japan it could be food for thought .My brother runs a mitsubishi Delica and he brings all his spares in from Japan rather than trying to get them in aussie and he saves a lot of $$$$ just a thought

Yes of course Paul. I do that when I get the chance, but even in Japan, this stuff is far from being cheap, plus you have to account for shipping and possible custom duties.

On top of the washer, it is compulsory to have self-levelling capability (either at the headlight or connected to the front suspension) so you don't blind the on coming traffic. As far as I know most of car maker has the self levelling at the front suspension.

Re: T31 HeadLights

Received the OEM T31 HID headlamp from JDM land today and power up fine with low beam only at the moment.

Now trying to find out what are those plugs are for.

Hi beam? daylight running lights? Autolevel sensor? Can't find anything in the service manual.

Re: T31 HeadLights

Found out the connector with green and black wire is for high beam and the other 3 pins plug for leveling motor. emoticon

The next bit is to find the plug for the high beam.
