Re: Forum Users Fuel Consumption Monitor

Just refilled my Exxy for the 1st time today. It's got 39.5K on the clock and I squeezed in 63.03L (damn close) for 537.6km covered = 11.72L/100km. Driven in peak hour Sydney traffic with one run up the F3 to Woy Woy and back mixed in. Am using Shell 95 Premium so will be interesting to see how the next fuel load performs. Have only driven like a granny since picking it up just after Easter in 2WD mode.

Will be adding a K&N air filter and will change my own oil to the Castrol Edge 5W/30 as recommended on the forum prior to my 40K service.

Re: Forum Users Fuel Consumption Monitor

Took my X-Trail in for it's first fuel up with me. Came out at 8.9 L/100km. About a 50/50 split of highway/city.

Seems to be pretty good compared to the others that were plugged into the online database. And not far off what my old Versa was getting.

Hope to see it continue like that.

Re: Forum Users Fuel Consumption Monitor

I have not used this monitor link but I have just done a 2000k trip with 3 adults, baggage ect in my '07 T30 manual and got 12kms/l or 8.5L/ 100k, I'm pleased with this, but she is thirsty around town.

Re: Forum Users Fuel Consumption Monitor

Knowing the general growing concern with fuel consumption and cost, perhaps it is appropriate that I refresh this thread.

I note that the Spritmonitor site for global X-Trail fuel consumption which is supported by this X-trail forum, could need a bit more support to become truly useful as varied inputs from a variety of drivers makes the averages closer to the real world.

It seems that there are very few up-to -date Australian contributors.

When I see so many questions on fuel economy in the forum, it makes me wonder why more people do not use the Spritmonitor site under the jalalski Australian login to create a useable data base.

For those so inclined to find ways to save fuel: As far as I can determine, the 2.4 litre petrol engine likes to inject about 100ml of fuel each and every time it is started.

That takes away about 1 Km in the litre , ie about 10% is added to the fuel consumption for that first litre when starting the car (that is with hot start, not cold start - then it gets worse!)

So the trick is to plan a journey which minimises parking and restarting the car throughout the journey.

10x engine starts = 1 litre ~ or about 15 cents each time you start the car.

Re:

Hi Jalalski,

I have added my T32 Diesel to the fuel monitor. Current fuel economy is 7.29 Lt / 100 km, which is a little higher than expected, but I have mainly been doing city driving. I have done one fairly long trip and at the end of the trip the onboard computer registered 4.4 lt / 100 km for the trip.

Cheers

John

Hi Jalalski,

I have a T32, not a T31. Should I start a new thread for T32 diesels?

Cheers

Yep, I realised that as soon as I hit the reply button emoticon

Please go a head and start a new thread for the T32 Diesel. Thanks

Re: SPIRITMONITOR

Hi All,

Is anyone else using the Forum account on SPIRITMONITOR. I have been using it and my average fuel consumption (mainly city driving) is 6.91 L/100 km.

Cheers
