Re: Rattling noise from sunroof
After hearing the level of service of the dealership you go to, am not surprised. Change dealers mate!

Re: Rattling noise from sunroof
OK all, I have solved my sunroof rattling noise problem.
It was not a rattle, but an intermittent squeak !
I realised this after a 4WD trip last month when the sunroof constantly squeaked along the trails with each flex of the body and then also started doing it on the road with bumps in corners.
So I asked my local service manager (very helpful guy as always) who suggested the sealing rubber was probably dry from weathering and that I should clean the dirt off the seal and then spray it with SILICONE spray to soften and lubricate it. Anything else will deteriorate the rubber and require it to be replaced.
Well I did this on the weekend and can now say there is no more squeaking nor any "rattle" from the sunroof.

Re: Rattling noise from sunroof
Just hope it stays that way Kev.
Silicone spray is a good product and lasts a long time, but the squeak will come back.
The best product to use is lanolin as it is natural and always leaves rubber soft. You can buy it in a can like bees wax.
Or just find a sheep and rub it on.

Re: Rattling noise from sunroof
All I can say is WD40 is amazing and there's nothing I haven't used it on which has damaged it except one time I accidently sprayed some in my beer. I find I use it on everything in and around the outside of my Exy. Sunroof seals, rails, rubbers on roof rack, door rubber seals, engine bay cleaner, door handles, key holes, wiper arms (not blades !).
Use a cloth to keep it spread evenly and make sure you don't get it on things like steering wheel, gear knobs, door knobs cos they get slippery.

Kev might not know any Kiwi's.
Apparently the tricky part is getting the sheep to stick their heads through the sunroof......
