Hi Guys,

Just got an SMS message from Richi stating the following:

Joshua Cameron Noel born natural at 3:40am (26/10/07)

7 pounds 16oz 53cm

Mum and bub are tired and are in a bit of a shock.

Congratulations to Richi and Clare on their newborn and welcome to the world Josh.

Congratulations guys!! A whole new world is opening up to you now!

If I can make one recommendation to you that would be to buy and read the Baby Whisperer books (there are 2), the approach taken to baby care in those books is fantastic and there is an international web forum to go with them which is also a great help ...

We are struggling with our little boy (now 6 months) because of some errors we made at the start, getting better now but it is much harder to correct as they get older! We wish we had read these books earlier.

And the ounces was wrong (as I got one SMS reply stating that 16 ounces = 1 pound emoticon

Adam - we've read a book called "Babywise" - I'll look into the books you recommended and see if they're similar techniques...

I'm just popping in home to try and get some sleep as I've been awake most of the time since Wednesday morning (apart from a few 1-2hr naps here and there).

The short version:

Baby Joshua was born this morning at 3:40am normal birth with epidural, weighing 7lb 15oz ([sign in to see URL]) and 53cm long. The baby was assisted with vac as Clare only managed perhaps half a dozen good pushes before becoming exhausted, as she had had about the same amount of sleep as me.

They're both doing well now, with mum & bub expected to be home on Tuesday.

I've just put photos on Clare's facebook account but I won't post her email address here (to avoid spam and as per forum guidelines). If you would like to see them, send me a PM and I'll give the email address so you can add her as friend (or me, and you might be able to look at her photos through my friends list). It will take me too long to do all the fiddling around to get the photos onto our website...
