Given I have plenty of time on my hands at the moment (and a weird sense of curiosity), I'm thinking about discovering what the absolute minimum time to hold the up button is emoticon

Is it normal that the rear window glass doesn't wind all the way down to the door frame. Mine stop 4 or so inches proud. 2006 model.

Yep completely normal. You will find most cars do this.

Yes normal, the shape of the door prevents it from going down any further.

Re: T31 X-Trail Auto window-up Bug

I wouldn't get too hung up on the 20 secs. Didn't work for my 2010 ST-L petrol manual after battery change. In fact my window stopped working totally for a few minutes after several tries with accurate 20 second timing. I thought I had burnt out a winder motor but they seem to have overload protection. Finally did the window up on the first switch position and pulled up to max for about 8 seconds when it reached the top as per a YouTube clip I saw on a US Nissan. Now all good. Cheers - Davo

Re: T31 X-Trail Auto window-up Bug

Not sure whether the solution to the "bug" in this post should fix my problem. Tried the 20 second reset test but no luck.

Problem:- The drivers side master switch operates perfectly to lower (open) and raise (close) the front passenger side window.

However, the passenger side switch no longer works to lower the window.......but does work perfectly to raise the window.

This sounds like it could just be a front passenger door window switch problem. Your thoughts!!!

All other window master and door switches work.

cheers

Re:

This fix is only for the driver's side window Dave. You may have a faulty switch and a quick visit to the wreckers may solve the problem quickly and cheaply.
