They will tell him for sure. He may have to leave a message for them to call back. Nissan will only disclose this information to the current owner of the vehicle.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Fri, 17 Aug 2007 22:24:44 +0000 Re: Recall not shownhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2003737,from=rss#post2003737https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2003737,from=rss#post2003737Sorry to hijack this thread, but a mate is looking at buying a 2003 exy, which also falls within the vin spec for all recalls. The current owner has no proof they have been carried out and Nissan won't tell him either. Any advise on what he should do. nondisclosed_email@example.com (BRETT72)Fri, 17 Aug 2007 22:14:22 +0000 Re: Recall not shownhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2003730,from=rss#post2003730https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2003730,from=rss#post2003730Depending on the dealer, some of them use the stickers on the driver's side door pillar to confirm the recall service was done, but this sticker could have easily fallen off during a car wash or something similar. The dealer I use puts a sticker on the pillar and gives a service receipt confirming the recall was done. If it is on their computer, you need not to worry, but ask for a written proof nevertheless, they should provide that with no problems. If still in doubt, you can also call Nissan Australia and they'll confirm that the recall has been done (or not) as well. The dealer would access the same central database which Nissan Australia would refer to.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Fri, 17 Aug 2007 21:40:04 +0000 Recall not shownhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2003722,from=rss#post2003722https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2003722,from=rss#post2003722Hi, went to FTG Nissan today to enquire re any recalls for my exy,( had read all the recalls listed with Vin numbers that applied in the recall forum listing ) service advisor queried why I wanted to know if I had not received a recall notice. I pointed out to him that mine fell into the group for a fuel filler recall, and that there were no insertions in the service book with the car, or that there were no stickers on the door pillars, after 10 minutes of looking, he replied that mine had been done on the 26th May 2006, it was listed on his computer,so I needed not to worry about it. I asked for a sticker or at least a notation in my service book to that effect. Answer was, next service we will write it in your book. Does it always go this way ? nondisclosed_email@example.com (bobtaus)Fri, 17 Aug 2007 20:32:14 +0000
