My wife was looking over my shoulder and said that would sound like that. She can still remember her Japanese from high school, So I can't really take the credit for the answer.

Aha! so you cheated mate LOL emoticon

I on other hand, was watching a Japanese advert for the exy (still can't find it) and at the end, the guy pronounced it and I kept playing it over and over again and thought, WOW!!!! what a difference it makes to the way we call the exy X-TRAIL emoticon

So guys, we now have a new nickname for the coming Series III:

As my wife ( Jackie ) pointed out, the Japanese don't have the letter X in their alphabet and everything is based on a vowel sound, therefore EKASU is the closest to the english letter X when pronounced.

It's still about as clear as mud to me though, I still have trouble with english as a first language sometimes. emoticon emoticon

Yeah, I figured as much, as I know many letters that are not in the English alphabet and which can not be easily pronounced (if at all) without merging a couple of letters from the English alphabet to make as close as possible sound of the letter.

I love languages by the way. Makes it interesting and the languages I know gives me the ability to pronounce ANY letter in ANY [sign in to see URL] alphabet that is. hehehehehe emoticon
