The new exy goes on sale in Japan on 22/8/2007
They have launched an awesome interactive website giving a great level of detail about the new exy and its capabilities (improvements)

Re: Nissan Japan Website
Hi Guys,
Upon further inspection of the new exy and looking a bit more closely, I found the following useful enhancements which Nissan decided to make:
1. Look at the position of the rear seat head-rests when the seats are folded (no more lost head-rests )
2. Finally, the passengers sitting at the back are getting some air!!! I wonder who will be attempting doing a retrofit when the new exy hits the market LOL
3. The centre-arm rest has finally been corrected for it to be used for what it's meant for (notice the height)!!
Hang on, there must be something wrong when they shifted the dials behind the steering wheel !!!!
Oh no!!! The top speed has dropped. hehehehe

I thought all Japanese cars had to be speed limited to 180K/ph anyway.
The speed limit on the new exy is actually 190kms/hour, while ours has a speed limit of 220kms/hours.
Some countries have their exys speed limited to 180k/ph, but I don't think ours is, as the dyno run has proven that it can get past that speed.

Re: Nissan Japan Website
my japanese is not up to par... is there an english version of their website. I would like to contact them and have them rethink the x-trail back to the north american market, seeing the yanks are finally understanding the price at the pump is going up..up.. up...

Re: Nissan Japan Website
It's not the Japanese you need convincing, it's Nissan Canada that need to be brought to its senses and the one you guys in Canada need to collectively approach asking for the T31 x-trail.
Their excuse that the Rouge replaced the xtrail has no ground whatsover, as it is a completely different vehicle and can't be compared to an xtrail.

Re: Nissan Japan Website
I got a response from the Canadian Driver editor and he believes that the auto industry is moving into the direction of car based SUV. He would be more than happy to see the X-trail back in the market. But he is going to see what other opportunity he can find to wake up Nissan.
