I bled the brakes myself recently for our 120k km service. I actually bled quite a bit of fluid through to get old fluid out of the lines. It was simple - disconnect the battery. My 6 year old was the peddle jockey while I lay around (under the car).

No problems at all, brake pedal feels like new.

My advise is make sure you have a perfect ring spanner the right size for the bleed nipples though - they'll be tight and you don't want to be rounding them off.
