Re: Woodys show pony
As you probabaly know, generally sub-bass is non directional, and the higher up the frequency range you go, the more directional it becomes. Mid-bass probably wont be too much of an issue, however if the phasing is wrong then it may sound awful, however in saying that, having the mid-bass out-of-phase with the tweeters/midrange is sometimes required to compensate for the distance.
A digital sound processor like the Alpine PXA-H510 (or whatever the current model is nowadays; the one I used to have was the H600 and wasn't 5.1 compatible), with the microphone attached to measure speaker distances, is going to make it sound perfect.

Thanks Rich, sounds like a digital sound processor is maybe all I need for my existing 2 way setup without upgrading to a 3 way. Any other brands I should be looking into besides Alpine?
William, the processors wont give the illusion that there is a midbass speaker there if there isn't one there, so I'd still recommend putting some in if you were already thinking of it.
As for processors - I've been out of the game for several years now, and haven't kept up-to-date on all the latest gizmos offered by all the manufacturers. You'd probably best be hoping Woody can help you with that one, or pop into a reputable car stereo store for assistance, or jump onto the CAA website as there's a vast wealth of knowledge & experience there. It's been quite some time since I've been a regular there, too. I just checked the URL works and it appears they've had a name-change since last time I visited there.

Re: Woodys show pony
Well....
After lots of hard work and a few beers, I've finally got the car to a point where i'm happy with it all.
Modifications to date are as follows:
Eyelids, 18" Lenso Widetrack's, Throttle body Spacer, lots of stereo bits, HID's and a sunroof wind deflector. The tint has also been done and for anyone interested is T5 on the rear cargo windows and T18 everywhere else.
On their way are the CAI and Exhaust mods along with a few other little bits and pieces aimed at making it a little quicker.
So, I figured, after doing a photoshoot for a couple of magazines, I'd post some updated pics of my ride...
Side On. New number plates.
Front on
Debadged and smooth as silk...
This is what $15K of custom stereo looks like. Including hand built imported Amps and the "only 2 of their model in the country" Subwoofers
The lovely Jess
And my fave....
Feel free to ask any questions. I'll answer to the best of my ability. And, no, i can't give you jess's phone number...
Woody
