Re: auto transmission filter
Anthony,
My understanding is that the auto transmission filter gets replaced when they change the transmission oil and it all comes as one charge.
If you have decided to change the transmission oil yourself then you can buy (import) this filter kit from the U.S. and it'll be just a little bit cheaper, but in my opinion, it's not worth the hassle.
HERE it is.
The Sentra Spec-V and our x-trail share the same auto transmission filter kit.
Hope this helps.

Re: auto transmission filter
I was in wrights nissan TRARALGON 28 feb 08 and i asked about the 120k service including my auto.Oil change, rear diff and transfer case.new plugs, new air filter, engine oil and filter,Rebleed brakes, new engine coolant, and 8litres of transmission oil.
I asked about the transmission filter and was told the filter is not changed and not on there 120k list. Was shown the computer read out,NO FILTER.price $427 the lot two hours to do it.
I also had a look on the cd about the auto oil and i could find no mention of a transmission filter, but i might have not found it.Can anybody tell me what is going on and does it need a filter?cheers fellows and hope some one can fill me in,

Re: auto transmission filter
Ray,
The exy does have the automatic transmission filter for sure. HERE it is.
If the dealer tells me they can't change it, am gonna buy this kit from the US and have my mechanic change it with the next transmission oil change.

Re: auto transmission filter
Your choice, but from what i gather after looking at the nissan work sheet data at the dealer ship, nissan does not think it is required for normal usage.Trying to save us money?or its not required at this time.I will think it over, but as i have never towed anything, and live in the country where the auto stays most of the time in overdrive just loafing along. Thanks for looking, and i find this a strange one.I now have to work out what is the best tranny oil to use?any suggestions/ The mechanic said if you do the oil change yourself,at least buy the oil from us,so it will work ok.Right i read this as we want to get some business out of you.I checked on some oil company sites and dextron 111 seems to be the go and what makes nissan oil so special is lost on me.cheers
