One of my mates did this with a vy commodore front end for his HSC project(had holden racing time sticker kit on it!). I'll try to get a pic off him. He got top marks in the state for his effort.

I know a guy that made something similar - he made a trailer out of the rear end of a car or ute (can't remember for sure now - it was many years ago), and the BBQ was inside it. The best part about it was the keg cut into two (which was hinged to make a lid) to use as a massive ice-box!
