Re: today our life changed for ever!!

It is not how often they wake up during the night it is how long it takes to feed, change and settle them each time!!

Thomas is in quite a fixed routine at the moment, he goes 3-4 hours between feeds and at night it is typically ~11pm, ~3am, ~7am which does not sound too bad but it takes him around [sign in to see URL] hours each time. so that is around 5 hours a night that he is actually up and needing attention of some sort ... pretty much half the night! emoticon

Oh well, they say that a lot of babies drop one of the night feeds within the first 2 months, here's hoping.

True... you spend most of the night awake and people who don´t have kids just don´t understand why you are so tired if the baby woke up "only twice last night".

But... you can make them drop the night feeds completely by the time they are about 6 months old. We did that with our daughter (she´s 8.5 months), and she cried for about an hour each night for four nights... now WE sleep like babies again.

The problem is always convincing the mother that letting them cry it out is the best thing to do. My wife actually thanked me for "forcing" her to not get up and feed our daughter.

(forcing = turning off the baby monitor).

Take care,
Carlos

Edit: If letting the baby cry it out doesn´t work, you can always fold down the back seat and go sleep in your X-Trail.
