Re: Budget (sub $200) Tyres

Paul,
The rims do complement the exy...the tyres look as tready as my Yokos you saw a couple weeks back and mind were at $285 each.
Did the tyre dealer give any indication of expected tread life...based on normal driving conditions of course.

cheers

Yeah there's a set on e-bay right now .
Dave they never gave me an expected mileage from them ,but did a little research on the net ,and the yanks seemed to like them for that and they said had good wet weather grip as well emoticon We will see how they go this weekend when i go to Tweed Heads and back emoticon emoticon
and just a free plug for where i got them from Tyreplus in Mill road at Campbelltown emoticon

Re:Firestone Destinations

well i've done about 6000km on the firestones now and i love them ,they have good grip in the wet and fuel consumption figures are better than what i was getting with the tranpaths, yes they are a little noisier , more so around round abouts and corners ,but after driving a few years in 4wds its not a big issue to me, so i'm one happy chappy with them emoticon

Re: Budget (sub $200) Tyres

I am happy with the MA-P1s on my T30 in 215/65R16. Paid about $175 ea and the mechanic thought they were a bit pricey! Seem to do well in dry and wet. Off road we only really use the occasional gravel track and no complaints. Not as good on the gravel as the old Grandtrak AT2's we bought the car with but those tyres were very noisy. Before the MA-P1s we had a set of Hankook Dynapro HP's, which were also fairly reasonably priced and decent onroad tyres. The MA-P1 has a very similar pattern to the Dynapro HP.

I should really get around to buying a spare set of steel or mag wheels and put some AT tyres on it for when we go away into the rougher stuff but I don't think the HT tyres are that bad for the occasional dirt track.

Re: Budget Tyres

No idea on these, never seen or heard of them before. But they look like a Bridgestone D694 copy. And at THAT price....

posticon Re: Budget (sub $200) Tyres

Just got a set of BFG KO2's for $186ea fitted, from Tyresales online. They were 18% off already and their 'Black Friday' sale took another 20% off that, 38% off! emoticon I'll retire the Goodride to another set of wheels for highway trips, round town. But they have been very good so far. I would have them again if I needed a 'mild' AT tyre.
