Firewall Heat Shield

Hello all,

Was wondering if it was possible to get some sort of self adhesive heat barrier for the fire wall. Given that the dash sticks out over the engine bay, if the vehicle is left standing for a while after being driven this area gets a real good heat soak and heats up all the air vent ducting meaning it takes some time before the air coming out of the vents is near outside temperature when you do drive off again.

Re: Firewall Heat Shield

Hi Lloyd,

This is a very good idea indeed and there is a product available exactly for this type of application, but I believe it costs a fortune.

HERE it is.

Let us know how much they quote you when you call them.

Thanks Jalal,

I have sent them a request for the nearest outlet. Once advised will request a price.

Re: Firewall Heat Shield

Well I finally heard back from them, costs as follows;

TT13500 $21 + GST/ 12" x 12"
TT13575 $39 + GST/ 12" x 24"
TT13585 $98 + GST/ 24" x 36"
TT13590 $127 + GST/ 24" x 48"

Will probably need the 24" x 36"

Just have to slot it into the budget somewhere now.
