Dreams have been crushed... emoticon

I guess i'll have to take an angle grinder the the exy down the street emoticon

Just out of curiosity, who was the manufacturer? Reason I ask is that my dad used to be Nissan national parts general manager and he might try making a few calls to some old mates that are still in head office Dandenong.

Re: Hyper Roof Rails with Lights

Tague,

Dreams not quite crushed as yet LOL emoticon

I want these hyper roof rails so bad, that I have decided to bite the bullet and do something [sign in to see URL]

Am gonna order them and pay a shipping charge more than the actual cost of the rails [sign in to see URL], I know, when I want something bad, I can't sleep at night until I get it. hahahaha emoticon

That is why I am an xtrailholic emoticon

Your dad can get them from the factory/Nissan in Japan if he has that sort of contacts emoticon

Sweet, well i'll put the hard word on him and get him to make some calls.
Can you give a ball park figure of the shipping cost from the U.S?

oh yeh nearly forgot, do you know the part number for both the hyper rails and the matching cross bars(roof racks), he said he'll need it because all the pen pushers at nissanHQ will have no idea by the product name.

Re: Hyper Roof Rails with Lights

Tague,

I am still negotiating the shipping charge but in my case it'll be air-freight and might cost around $500AUD. (crazy)

I have no idea how much shipping from the US would cost. They have no xtrails there LOL emoticon

I don't have a part number for the hyper roof rails, but here is the part number for the genuine nissan cross bars to be used with these roof rails:

Part# KE730-8H600

If your dad gives the part number for the cross bars, they will be able to work-out the part number for the roof rails.

By the way, I won't be getting the genuine nissan cross bars cause they cost a fortune. I am trying to find the aftermarket ones, but first, I wanna get the roof rails themselves.

Good luck mate.

P.S. Hyper Roof Rails is the official Nissan product name for this part.

Re: Hyper Roof Rails with Lights

Jalal, I was one step ahead of you when I replied - I assumed you also incorrectly typed that it would be the shipping costs that would prevent it being feasible to post them internationally...

Surely ski's would be just as fragile as the roof rails. Can you get really long postpak tubes overseas? emoticon

How do people post ski's internationally? Couldn't they be sent the same way (assuming they come as separate bars)? Get the sender to buy you a ski luggage bag and find someone coming to Australia and send the package over with them emoticon

Jalal, it's time you found some really good friends or close relatives overseas so they can post you all the X-Trail goodies you keep finding! emoticon

Better yet, if they're genuine Nissan items, why can't you get Nissan to import them for you as part of their general restocking schedule? I know genuine Nissan prices aren't cheap, but surely that method of acquiring them would be cheaper than importing them yourself?!

Re: Hyper Roof Rails with Lights

Rich,

Ski's don't weigh 19Kg like the gross weight of these roof rails packed in a 166cm long box.

The relatives or friends I would need for this would need to be damn close or completely crazy to post this stuff to me from overseas LOL

Talk about a cause for family or friendship break-ups LOL

Importing them through Nissan is out of the question as they'll be listed using the Nissan (balloon) price and I still have to pay shipping on them as well.

By the way (and I forgot to mention this to Tague) the listed price of these hyper roof rails at Nissan Japan is a very cheap $2000AUD emoticon

Now you know why I want to get them emoticon

Re: Hyper Roof Rails with Lights

Tague,

I thought I should give the local Nissan dealer a call and see if they have the cross bars for the hyper roof rails in stock (seeing that we do these xtrails on the road)

They did and the price is $294/set which is not bad I think.

The part number I mentioned above is correct for these cross bars.

Using your dad contacts, am sure you can get them cheaper with the discount.

Re: Hyper Roof Rails with Lights

Interesting. I just called my local dealer to enquire on Employee price and the said it was not in stock and would come from Japan as special order.
Quoted $244+ taxes as normal price.
Going on your price I can get it for $225.

Re: Hyper Roof Rails with Lights

Well mate, it seems when it comes to discounted employee pricing, the stock vanishes emoticon

I got my price from Nissan Rockdale (Sydney) and they said they have plenty in stock. In fact these are cheaper than the standard roof racks for the other models, because demand for them is pretty low, given the limited number of xtrails with hyper roof rails in Australia.
