Battery monitor - offroad neccesity
Decided to fit an 'Opposite Lock' battery monitor to the exy, in an attempt to avoid the dreaded flat battery.
This device has a 11.6v cut out function, so I have installed it between the battery and my engine mounted aux. fuse box. All my accessories now come through this fuse box.
When the car is running, it monitors the actual battery voltage.
When the ignition is turned off, the monitor switches modes and displays the amount of charge left, in a percentage.
When the voltage or percentage drops below 11.6v, all the leds flash red as a warning. I am looking at the possibility of wiring in an audible alarm to the circuit.
Anyone planning on fitting accesories and don't want to run the risk of a flat battery, this (or a device like it), is highly recommended.
Battery monitor:
Engine off, leds showing battery level, which is higher than 75% charged.
Engine running, leds showing battery voltage, which is 14volts.
