Yes they should have given you the caps back if they fitted the roof bars for you.

Hi Pete

I fitted the roof bars myself and still have the original rail caps (safely stored in the glovebox).

What I think I'm after is some sort of blank tabs (like Jalal has described) to make sure that the void is covered if/when I remove the bars.

Re: Nissan roof racks - poor finish (any options ?)

Have read this through, and thought I better ask before buying the wrong aftermarket racks(genuine are pricey as hell). I would prefer a "swept back" rack, that is still capable of clearing the rear spoiler, as against the vertical mounting brackets. (looks really) Are either the Rola or Rhino available in this style and if so, anyone have a style name or part number?
(series one Exy)
Sorry if I have missed something blatantly obvious emoticon
Cheers

Dave,

The ones I had before fitting the hyper roof rails were the Rhino Sportz for the Series I (they also fit the series II) and they sit higher than the factory ones and clear the spoiler if you have something long (for example a roof pod)

From memory they were $238/set and available through any 4WD shop or directly through Rhino.

Had a close look at the current model roof bars and they seem to be THULE in origin, the bike rack and tray that goes on them is definitely THULE.
