Stockton Beach Trip - Early 2007

G'day everyone

I'm moving to the central coast in a few weeks and would love to go on a stockton beach trip with a group of xtrails... seeing as i have missed the last couple of trips i'd like to organise something for early next year.

How many of you would be interseted in making a day out of it?

Let me know, i'm real keen on it seeing as the exy has never seen sand.

regards

Matt

I'm keen, but finances may prevent us from attending, with us saving for our o/s trip early next year.

edit: Clare says we could probably do it as a day-trip (rather than staying overnight like last time)...

Re: Stockton Beach Trip - Early 2007

Hi Matt,

I was contemplating driving to Newcastle early in the new year just to drive Stockton.

Do you have dates in mind as I am free from basically the 1st till 5th January and was looking for things to do. I may also be doing a run up here in Brissy with Revhead Kev, so will need to consider this as well. Whatever I decide to do, I need to be back in Brisbane no later than Friday the 5th, night time.

Tight timeframe I know but if finances allow and schedules allow, I'd be prepared for the drive. I have a sister in Newcastle so could get plenty of rest before driving back.

I'll keep checking to see how this is going and let you know! emoticon

Jamie,

Don't worry about having to do our trip during Jan 1st & Jan 5th. We will be up in Brissy for a couple of weeks and could organise to do our trip one Sat or Sun after you get back if you go to Newcastle.

With your sister in Newcastle, it's a good excuse to combine 'business' with 'pleasure' and both see the family as well as have fun on the beach emoticon

From Brissy it will be about 11-12 Hrs as I have done the Syd-Evans Head-Brissy trip MANY TIMES visiting both parents and parents in-law each Christmas/New Year. The roads are quite good most of the way with improvements each year.

If you do decide to go to Newcastle, let me know and I can post the Power Window timer circuit to you to install as a Christmas present (hahaha).

I haven't been to Stockton yet either.. and would really like to go. Only thing holding me back is my lack of knowledge and my desire to have someone around to pull me out if I get stuck...

At this stage I'm camping over the new year but not doing a lot else in early January, so pending solid dates... count me in.

Okay great, there is a good amount of interest so far. I will look at some possible dates and come back with something more concrete and see how everyone feels.

Cheers

Re: Stockton Beach Trip - Early 2007

Hi everyone

How does Saturday 6th January sound? I say the best way to organise this would be to get the Wollongong/Southern exy's to meet the Sydney-siders at an agreed place and time (maybe even swap mobile numbers incase someone is running late), then travel onwards and pick up the Central Coast crew before all heading up on the highway together? I'm not sure how it's been done in the past but i'm sure a meeting place off a main road, like a petrol station etc, would be the easiest. I know of a good place on the Central Coast, somewhere like the BMW/Mini car yard just off the F3 (Gosford turn-off) is easy.

So how many are interested for the 6th January? What would be a reasonable time to meet? Say 10am for Sydney-siders and 11am for Central Coast? It should only take an hour to reach the CC on the F3 from Sydney.

Feedback would be good.

Cheers
Matt

That is late 2007 :P I think you mean January! Haha... looks good to me!

It is only 40 minutes from the start of the F3 to the Mini/BMW garage. A good/easy meeting place before jumping on the F3 is on the Old Pacific Highway around Cowan or Berowra. You can get on the F3 earlier... but for a meet place as suggested, just travel through Hornsby to Berowra.

Rest of the suggestions are great to me. Can count me in at this stage.
