Re: Broken Exy

Cool! Glad you got it sorted out Scott and that it was a simple fix.

Re: Broken Exy

Hi Scott,

So it was the Key and the immobilizer after all, just like the previous member.

Was it the spare key or the main one that stopped responding?

Re: Broken Exy

The main one which is why it is so odd because i was using only 24 hours earlier! the fact that i took the battery out and put another one in then put the original back in probably didn't help it either, only confused it more.

Re: Broken Exy

I had something similar happen 6-8 weeks ago. Car parked in my garage at back of house. Had visitors with a load of luggage late afternoon, so moved my exxy to the front yard.
Midday next day, turned the key and it wouldn't start, tried a few times but concerned about draining the battery, so rang Nissan Road Service.
The local RACQ person came out, hopped in, turned the key and put his foot on the accelerator!! Started after a couple turns.
He said this often can happen with new cars - they get flooded when you only drive them a minimal distance and turn them off. From memory i think i might have lifted my foot off the clutch a bit early so there could have been petrol left over not burned.
