2006 Melbourne Motor Show Feb 9-19

Image

Hi Victorians,

As you probably already know, the 2006 Melbourne Motor Show is on, details can be found HERE

I have browsed through the highlights and the show looks VERY promising.

One of the highlights was that Territory is now being offered in the Turbo version.

Some tough competition times for Nissan a head I guess.

Nissan Australia states that they will reveal a "few surprises" as they put it HERE so I'll be looking forward to your update guys (those who are going there)

Please update this thread with any news about the show, especially about Nissan’s surprises (one of which we might already know) emoticon

Re: 2006 Melbourne Motor Show Feb 9-19

Sorry to say this Jalal, but the motor show really wasn't as good as everyone expected it to be this year.
Apart from a couple of concepts, there really weren't many new and interesting things compared to last year.
Although i am a nissan fan, i have to admit that i really wasn't that excited about the nissan stand this year. It had the same annoying salesman on speaker touting the Z roadsters retracting roof, they've renamed the Pulsar, Tiida (pronouced teedar, as corrected by the salesman). Apart from this, and the Nismo 350Z concept, and the new X-Trail ST-S which the salesman didn't even know about, there wasn't that much else there. I didn't even know about the new Navara until i saw link above. Which i saw today. I went to the show last thursday/saturday

There was an interesting looking Dodge Calibre. And the Territory seemed to have been revised somewhat.

I was really impressed with Alfa Romeo. The 159 looked very nice and the Brera which will be a new model is one of the better new cars i've seen in a long time (apart from the x-trail that isemoticon)

I've put alot of pictures on my MSN Spaces page. You're all more than welcome to see them at

(Sorry, no X-Trail pictures there emoticon)

Happy Trailing...emoticon

~Jonno

Sorry to hear this Jonno, the highlight on their web site looked very promissing indeed.

Unless am doing something completely wrong, I can't see any photos of the show in your album, but the other photos are awesome emoticon
