NSW and ACT Easter '06 trip

 Guys,

Just a feeler to see how much interest is out there for a weekend trip over the Easter school holiday period. (NSW)

If you are interested, reply with some destinations, but please keep in mind that idealy we want somewhere that we can set-up as a base for the kids and a drop toilet for the ladies is always a good bargaining tool.

Consider it a weekend of exploring the limits of the exee, tall tales around the campfire and a break from the city rush (for those who haven't escaped yet).

I am in the process of checking out some maps/routes out my way (Lithgow-Orange), but any ideas are welcomed.

We all saw how much fun Jalal and the guys had last year north of Lithgow (top spot), but now it is time to do it again.

Re: Easter '06 trip

Brett,

I will be organizing the biggest off-road trip our forum ever had for Easter with the help of Sutherland Shire Off-Road (4WD Shop) and we have talked today about the plan in general.

Full details will be posted here in about 2 weeks time, when we work everything out and I go to the spot myself to check the road and conditions in general.

But, I encourage you to keep the Easter break FREE as this trip is gonna be awesome and huge! emoticon

Did I just dangle the carrot again?? You bet LOL emoticon

One tip: destination Araluen, NSW

Re: Easter '06 trip

Jalal,

We are keen to make this trip, but it all depends on the dates and whether rosters will give us both the time off. I will do what I can to get this period off anyway.
There's a couple of other xtrailer families out this way who have been waiting for a trip like this. Although they are not members (yet), if it ok with you, I will pass on this information.

 THE MORE THE MERRIER.

 Excellent choice of location too.

Re: Easter '06 trip

No problems Brett about your friends, however, there is a slight limitation.

We will only be able to accommodate 10 members and their families in this trip, as this is a private property we're going to and the trip is for the duration of the Easter break, so preference will be given to forum members.

It is a camping trip with all other facilites available (including hot showers)

Full details to follow in a couple of weeks.

Should there be interest of more than 10 members of the forum, we will conduct a draw! emoticon

Re: Easter '06 trip

I really hope Clare & I can make it, and that it doesn't clash with...

Our wedding anniversary, which is on 24th April, the week after Easter, where I'm presently planning a relaxing (and expensive) holiday for the two of us for the whole last week of April... We've both already applied for A/L, but being the school holidays, there's a risk we wont be able to take holidays then, and probably even less chance of taking the week before (ie: the week after Easter) which I think is the first week of the school holidays.

We'll see how we go, but I'm itching for some more 4WD'ing!

Re: Easter '06 trip

Guys,

I would like to gauge interest at this stage of those members in Sydney, ACT and NSW, so I can get an idea about the numbers.

Please post your interest to join this trip here and indicate the chances of you coming.

Rich, your interest has been noted and knowing your previous record of attendance, I think I'll give you 1%. HaHaHa just joking emoticon

I presume this will be a camping trip. Does it have to be 'camping' only ?

Alan: Yes, all families are welcome and young kids too. Better start them early and give them a feel of the camping life. hehehe

John: What do you mean by that? Personally I wouldn't drive over 300kms to come back the same day emoticon If you have an off-road camper that is good too.

The trip is for the duration of the Easter Break.

Re question about camping?

I have no idea where you might be going and as I do not have any camping equipment what-so-ever, I was wondering what the likelyhood of motels or cabins or on-site vans being within reasonable reach is?
I think I am also past the stage of enjoying sleeping on the ground!! (No - just thinking of the wife!!!!)
There may be others out there who would be similarly restrained but who may enjoy the outing.
Just a thought.
