Nice pics jimbob!

Thought I'd better move your post to the events section where all other Stockton and Pre-Stockton topics are.

How busy was it over there today?

nice pics, Glad you enjoyed your first sand time

Looking at the Kia, and his tyre tracks it looks like he was trying to drive cross slope - ? I would strongly recommend against doing that

Just for info - while I always recommend doing a training course, there is a book that may help out for some sand driving.

Great photos Jimbob...

Your Forester really looks like it's in a bit of trouble in the first shot half-way up the dune... I assume the belly was rubbing on the sand all the way? I would also expect an X-Trail to be in a similar position if it was taken up the same dune, only you'd really want to make sure it was in LOCK and not AUTO (hey, Peter emoticon ). The Forester is constant AWD, right?

The shot of the Forester in the second dune photo looks like the back end is lifted up in the air?!?!

I wouldn't want to be where those guys are on the downhill side of the Kia!!!

The Forry is constant AWD, the picture of me sinking and the one where i am nearlly airbourne are on the same dune, you can just reverse out of them, you dont sink that far. My mate in the Kia, was abour to run down a big dube, decided to reverse, looking over the wrong shoulder and before he knew it, down he went, he was still a fair way off rolling, two of the guys we were with are very experienced.

Jimbob,

I was just wondering how the Kia got out of it, was he snatched back up or reverse down or other way.

Re: stockton 12/02/05

we just dug the sand out from behind the tyres, he reversed back about 1 meter, then faces the front wheels down the hill and drove forward out of it. We had 2 guys with us that are very experienced and they gave him directions in what to do.
